Comp Results Hollands Landing

Hollands landing, special thanks to PITSTOP auto for sponsoring the comp donating LED trailer and Navigation lights Attended by 8 adults and 4 juniors, estimated over 250 bream caught these are the results; 1st Place –Darren Zammit Black Bream .36kg 2nd Place - John Mihai Flathead - .34kg

A comp which was reintroduced in this years syllabus, had a few members keen to try this location for the first time, with a forecast expected to be a pleasant weekend, about 12 members made their way down, stopping at Sale before hand to stock up on some fresh sandworms. Darren Zammit arriving at Hollands landing first with young Luke tobacco on board, fished the main straight, it took no time in discovering that Hollands landing is a huge nursery for hundreds of small bream. By late afternoon most members had arrived and all bream caught were undersized, keeping members busy but also frustrated at the same time. Finished fishing for the first day saw all members back at the caravan park playing table tennis before lights out at 11:00pm. Saturday morning John Mihai hit the water nice and early targeting big flathead in the lake system with Darren and Luke chasing ducks for the first part of the morning, Dave Gatt fished Toms creek, with members coveringalot of ground, only 1 fish was caught over size by Darren which went a whopping 28cm, once it got dark John Mihai returned to the ramp with a tally of 1 undersized bream for the day. Sunday morning John persisted to get a Flathead when he was rewarded, weighing in at .34kg. All other members fished land based continued to catch and release small bream. (Note: Hollands landing is no longer on next years syllabus and reminded us why it was removed years ago)
