To all members, Corrie Banks was a guest speaker at our Club during the early years of the club starting up, promoting GFAV below are a few of his accolades.

One of GFAV's Life Members; Corrie Banks, passed away on Friday 4th December.  Corrie had a long and distinguished association with GFAV, GFAA, VRFish and the BIA to name a few. He spent countless hours educating and promoting fishing in The Royal Children's Hospital and via the media. Some of the other activities he was involved in were:
• Chairman & member of the State Boating Council
• 3UZ Co-Host for a Weekly Fishing & talkback show.
• Member of Fisheries Research Committee.
• Chairman & Member of Recreational Marine Committee.
• 3AK Co-Host & Presenter “Fishing & Boating” a talk back show on Melbourne Radio.
• Steering Committee for the development of a Victorian Boating Strategy.
• Member of Fisheries Revenue Allocation Committee.
• Member of the Management Plan Steering Committee for the Rock Lobster & Giant Crab Fishery Management Plan.
• Member of the Management Plan Steering Committee for the Anderson Inlet Fisheries Reserve Management Plan Steering Committee.
• Member of the Management Plan Steering Committee for the Mallacoota Inlet Fisheries Reserve Management Plan.
• Member of Marine Estuarine Fishery Committee. (Part of the restructured Fisheries Comanagement Council)
• Secretary of GFAV
• President of GFAV
• President of the Victorian Game Fishing Club
• GFAV Delegate for Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron
• GFAV Executive Officer to GFAA, Centenary Medal and a Victorian State Government Award in recognition of his service to the community.
Corrie will be fondly remembered.  Our thoughts are with Corrie's family and friends.
